Long Pond in Benton New Hampshire

Looking out at Long Pond, in Benton New Hampshire. This is another isolated place to kayak or just boat in general, but is easily accessible up a dirt road. The pond itself is pretty shallow and rocky, but a great place to kayak or canoe. Heron and other birds abound!

Kettle Pond in Marshfield Vermont

The sky is reflected on Kettle Pond in Marshfield, Vermont. Great place to kayak and canoe, although you will have to lug your boats a bit to get to it. There’s also a hiking trail around the pond with rustic camping shelters scattered about. Part of the Groton State Forest.

Tree at Lower Symes Pond

A dead tree hangs out over the water at Lower Symes Pond in Ryegate, Vermont. The pond is a bit of a daring drive to get to (via a logging road), but loons and the beauty and solitude of both Lower Symes Pond and Upper Symes Pond make it well worth the effort.
